WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A CAREER IN DIGITAL?
Digital is future.
WHAT IS THE BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU RECEIVED AND FROM WHOM?
“Discover yourself!” – adviser agreed to stay anonymous. 🙂 A career is not about a job. It is first of all about yourself, about doing what you are, what you love. Yes, I know you’ve heard it so many times “Do what you love!”, but do you really know what you love? Or it is just something that the ones around made you believe you love?
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE DIGITAL WORLD IS?
In my first book, This is Retention – The first book in Romania on Customer Retention – I’ve tried to put together the most important known principles and tools to better retain customers and I think that this business area is critical for the digital ecosystem. And no, 🙂 my passion for shaping a better future didn’t stop with the book, I am currently running the first independent study in Romania on Customer Loyalty & Retention (if you want to contribute, the link to the questionnaire is here).
An important part of my growth and, therefore, contribution, comes from my daily efforts to learn more, develop strategies and implement them – on top, I have the chance to do this for the most admired Romanian company. Here I’ve learned a lot about what is the real meaning of being THE BEST.
I am one of the luckiest – I do what I love and I am doing it for more than a decade. I am passionate about Customer Retention – it is my thing. And my way of being grateful is my commitment to never stop sharing my passion with the ones around me.
HOW CAN ONE FUTURE-PROOF HIS CAREER?
When looking at your career, when applying to that job you want, take the time to answer the following question: Is this part of my future as I want it? Oh, you didn’t stop to think about how you want your future to look like? Now is the time to do it.
DIGITAL WILL: change the world.
CREATE: your own style. Your own way of doing things. Different.
SHARE: your passion. Always.
ACHIEVE: not just some objectives. Achieve your highest objectives. Don’t think big. Think biggest!
ADVICE TO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS:
Believe in yourself, work hard and don’t quit. Apply Customer Retention principles when it comes to your dreams coming true. Take ownership and act like you own your projects. Make mistakes and learn from them. Take ownership also for those – and you will gain something others cannot give you: self-respect. And when you will become a people manager, a leader, believe in your team, stand by your people and give them reasons to fulfill their dreams – they will become your first and most important line managers – aka “bosses” 🙂 – act accordingly. This is mandatory for growing.
